DIGI-FELLOWS: Promoting Competences for the Digital World by an Educational Escape Room

The goal of the PACER project is to develop an educational format with a playful character. Following the game principle of escape rooms, a point-and-click adventure game was developed in which puzzles require a playful engagement with fundamental computer science topics. The target group is initially teacher training students whose digital literacy is to be promoted. The aim of the project is to foster the competences necessary in the context of digitalization from the field of basic computer science education in a low-threshold, location- and time-independent, and playful manner. The target group is initially students in teacher training programs, who are increasingly expected to promote computational thinking skills themselves and therefore must also possess them.

Funding & Resources

This project was funded through the DIGI-FELLOWS Program of the Digitale Hochschule NRW. The project proposal was submitted together with Steffen Jaschke (Computer Science Education - University of Siegen).

I worked on this project as a student assistant and was responsible for operational project management, game-design and implementation.
